Philanthropy
Project

Making an impact one sandwich and shirt at a time.

For RLC this year, we will be making PB&J sandwiches for the local homeless population here in Riverside with a student group on-campus (SHARP), and making pet toys for foster pets with Foster Army Animal Rescue.

Pre-Conference Donations

We will be collecting unwanted t-shirts or shirts that your delegates, chapters, or residents no longer want. We will be using this with Foster Army to make homemade pet toys at the conference! We will be collecting all shirts during check-in. For every t-shirt donated, your delegation will earn 1 Norm point for conference spirit!

We will be washing and sanitizing all clothing before using them to make pet toys so that we do not infect any of the pets! If we need additional clothing, we will be using clothes donated to the NRHH Clothing Drive at our institution. Any additional donations will be given to our NRHH clothing drive, which collects donations for our sustainability thrift swap and local organizations that serves homeless populations in the Inland Empire.

Fighting Food Insecurity

Student Homeless Aid Relief Project (SHARP)

SHARP is a student-led organization dedicated to assisting unhoused individuals in Riverside. Founded in 2003, S.H.A.R.P. has proudly served the Riverside community for over 20 years. The organization actively fosters collaboration with various student groups, providing a platform for UCR students to connect while making a meaningful impact on their community. During our bi-weekly meetings, S.H.A.R.P. endeavors to donate approximately 350 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, along with 70 hygiene kits, to those experiencing homelessness at the Riverside Access Center.

Providing Forever Homes

Foster Army Animal Rescue

Foster Army Animal Rescue is a 501c3 non profit pet rescue based in Riverside CA. We take in animals from the shelter most in danger of being put to sleep - ill, injured, senior, underage, overlooked, and disabled pets are our specialties.  All animals live in loving foster homes until adopted, and our thrift store helps raise money to care for these misfit pets.
